System Access to Go free speech

Hi,
I recently went home for Christmas break and didn't have Jaws on my parent's computer.
I tried the free screenreader software at
www.satogo.com
d loved it.
Its web-based and uses many of the same commands as Jaws.
Has anyone else tried it? Does anyone use it exclusively for a screenreader without having Jaws, WindowEyes, etc?
Does anyone own it on the thumb drive?
Any other thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

I have tried it and really enjoyed it! Nearly bought the system when it was on such a great sale over Thanksgiving.

I got a few internet explorer crashes, but wasn't sure if that was because I had IE6

Overall, I like the system and see myself buying it one day. Especially with the thumb drive capability.

I used it for setting up my i tunes account because it's the only thing out there that reads the forms for setting it up. I think it's neat that you can go to any computer with an internet connection and pull that up.

I have it on the Desktop of my computer, and it's pretty cool. Sometimes Firefox crashes with some webpages I click on, so I use it with Internet Explorer to get to those pages I have trouble with on Firefox. Actually, I use System Access for that, and NVDA for Firefox, and NVDA is usually my primary screenreader, since System Access can't be rebooted once I close it; I have to restart the computer if I want to use it a second time. But both screenreaders have been working pretty good for me for being free. If I had the money, I would purchase System Access, as I like that speech synthesizer and how it works with forms. I can actually keep System Access on when my mom or other sighted family members need to do something, and they don't mind it.

I bought system access along withe system access mobile network and love that thing! I use system acess when i'm using the system access mobile network or when I just feel like a change in the screen reader.

I just tried this out today for the first time. Very cool. I wish I had bought it when they had the kick ass sale at Christmas. If they ever do that again, I'll buy the thumb drive version for sure.

I use it for school and it is just awesome!!!
they can't afford to have jaws on over 100 computers and so now I can use any computer in the school. Grate!`!

Sa To Go works well on my office computer which does not have another screen reader. But let the user beware: sometimes it just doesn't want to start properly. I had to resort to using NVDA when System Access wouldn't work, but that ESpeak synth sounds so stupid! System Access is reliable pretty much 98% of the time, but you should be prepared with a backup if it refuses to cooperate.

Do any System Access to Go users know whether it is possible to run it from a computer without paying? Even better, is it possible to get it to start after your computer is logged on?

It's not something I use personally, but I'll be training other visually impaired people in the use of System Access to Go in the near future and due to financial difficulties, the organisation I volunteer for only has demos of Jaws.

As far as I know, it is only for going to the satogo site and running it that way. Once you are disconnected from the web, system access is disconnected as well.

Does anyone find system access sluggish at times? I'm not sure if it is the program or something to do with my laptop. It's only occasionally.

To the person that asked if you can run it after logging into windows without having to bring up internet explorer well here you go. press windows key + R to bring up the run dialog box then type in the url www.satogo.com and press enter. This should work especially if internet explorer is set to the default browser as typing url's into the run dialog box launches the site in your default browser and i don't believe System Access to go works in firefox as it relies on Active X technology. Oh and for the record .. if you own a Jaws or zoomtext license you can run both of those from a thum drive as well. Not sure about any other screen readers but i would varify with their respective manufacturers.
